colonial rules

Postby Captain Cardboard » Tue Feb 10, 2009 12:59 pm

Having clearly stated on this forum and to various members of the club that I will not be indulging in any new projects this year, or buying any figures??? And simply concentrating on the unpainted lead mountain in my shed  ????.
Can any one recommend any rule sets for small scale (possibly 10mm) colonial or Middle Eastern WW1 type conflicts.
Having had a very enjoyable ACW game on Monday, the prospect of masses of close order infantry and cavalry columns reinforced by a slack handful of Rolls Royce armoured cars and possibly the occasional bombing run from a bi-plain has a certain appeal.
Somewhere in the realms of ‘horse and musket’ meets industrialised warfare ????
The most important aim in war is to maintain an army intact as long as possible and avoid battle.

I can't actually recommend a set but I have a copy of the relevant Principles of War rules if you want to have a look at them
